TRAINING

'My Pikin’ is our 6 weeks Parenting Programme focusing on physical chastisement​. This training looks at:

• What is physical chastisement?

• The Law

• Understanding the definition of reasonable punishment

• Working with the Local Authority

• Alternative methods of setting boundaries

​

We complete direct work with children and 1-2-1 sessions with parents/carers. We also aim to complete a family network meeting to explore possible sources of support within the family network including extended family members, friends and faith leaders. 

​

We complete group work with the whole family drawing up a family agreement and safety plan.

​

The programme can be completed alongside a parenting assessment, or as a bespoke piece of work.

​

A comprehensive report is provided at the end of the programme.
